A pre-Christmas break on the Kent coast. The lively town of Folkestone provides a good base from which to explore this beautiful county. It’s harbour was for 200 years one of Britain’s busiest. A funicular railway runs from cliffs to beach.
The Burlington Hotel sits on The Leas, Folkestone’s delightful clifftop walkway, with wide lawns. The Victorian hotel is one of many to be built to house guests brought in by the railways. The hotel is 3* rated and has a lift.
Monday Travel to Folkestone with a stop in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Welcome drink on arrival at the hotel and entertainment after dinner.
Tuesday A visit to the beautiful city of Canterbury for shopping and sightseeing, a delightful place to visit when decorated prior to Christmas. Evening entertainment at hotel.
Wednesday Free day in Folkestone. Gala Christmas Dinner at our hotel.
Thursday Morning visit to the delightful town of Rye with its white clapboard cottages.
