Life & Death in Pompeii & Herculaneum "British Museum Special Exhibition"
|
|
This spectacular exhibition at The British Museum will be the first such major exhibition in London for almost 40 years. It has been made possible through collaboration with the Archaeological Superintendency of Naples & Pompeii, and will bring together over 250 fascinating objects and casts, both recent & celebrated finds from earlier excavations. Many of these objects have never before been seen outside Italy.
The exhibition will have a unique focus, looking at the Roman home and the people who lived in these ill-fated cites before Vesuvius erupted in AD 79.
After visiting the exhibition (12.30 – 12.50 timed entrances) there is ample time to explore the rest of the Museum and marvel at its famous exhibits or venture outsider in the surrounding area.

A leisurely drive to Evesham Country Park, going one way and returning via another route. On this 130 acre site there is an extensive Garden Centre, Farm Shop, Ten Courtyard Outlet Shops, Restaurants and Miniature Railway (pay on day). Stroll around the estate or take the miniature railway to see some picturesque views over the Vale of Evesham.

Set beside the Beaulieu River in the New Forest, Exbury is a spectacular 200 acre site, world famous for rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and rare shrubs and tress. There is an excellent restaurant & tearooms, as well as a gift & planet shop. Gardens Entry is included as well as a 20 minute Steam Train Ride. A Great Day out for all the Family!
